All-in-one diapers, also shortened to AIO diapers, aren't like the diapers that your mother and grandmother used. The cover and diaper are stitched together and can go into the wash all together. The inside has multiple layers of absorbency, and a waterproof layer on the outside. These are way more convenient but are more pricey. Some of these diapers are one-size, which means they can be used from newborn to potty-training. All-in-ones can be rougher on the environment if you don't buy enough so that you are only doing the wash twice a week, frequent washes wastes water and energy. Also some brands aren't biodegradable, and can stack up in landfills after your child has been potty trained.
